"Tim has a  clear appreciation of the responsibility of the Public Safety Commissioners position and knows  how to work cooperatively within and across departments. "
Retired Fire Chiefs Endorse Tim Coll for Public  Safety Commissioner:

As former Fire Chiefs, we represent nearly a quarter century of administrative  management for the Saratoga Springs Fire Department. During that time, we navigated the  challenges of the rapidly changing demands of today’s response ready fire service.

In recent years, we have seen the emergence of new demands on services such as  hazardous materials, code enforcement, NFPA and OSHA regulations, rigorous training  requirements and Emergency Medical and Ambulance Services. We know all too well the  critical importance of having a cohesive vision and a trustworthy relationship with the Public  Safety Administration.

We were able to successfully navigate these challenges in great part because of the  relationship fostered between the Fire Administration and Public Safety Administration. We were  fortunate to work with several administrations who listened to and respected the work and vision  we put forth for the department. Unfortunately, the current administration does not share the  same vision nor have the same respect as was demonstrated during our tenure as Fire Chiefs.

In contrast, Commissioner of Public Safety candidate Tim Coll brings with him decades  of experience, working side by side with other government agencies of all levels. Tim has a  clear appreciation of the responsibility of the Public Safety Commissioners position and knows  how to work cooperatively within and across departments. He understands that getting the job  done requires an astute level of mutual respect between all who operate under the chain of  command and within government. It is because of that and his knowledge of first responder  operations that we proudly and enthusiastically endorse Tim Coll as the next Commissioner of  Public Safety.

Sincerely,

Robert Cogan
